How Esow Started Cycling
At first, Esow wanted to be a rower. His mother saw an advertisement for sports trainees. She sent him to the State Sports Council Netaji Stadium. Esow was enrolled for rowing, but he was short in height. So, coaches shifted him to cycling. This was the start of his cycling journey.
He won his first medal, a silver, in the under-14 500m time trial event at the National Cycling Championships in Kerala in 2015. After this, he moved to Delhi. He was selected for the National Cycling Academy.
Big Achievements
Esow became the first Indian to win a medal at the Junior Track World Championships. In 2018, he won a silver medal in the keirin event in Switzerland. He was only 17 years old at that time. He lost the gold by just 0.017 seconds.
